**You must complete the Online Registration Form for all incoming students**  Please call Aixa Moynihan at 845-627-9859 with any questions about Registration.  New students will not be able to attend school the same day they register.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2023-2024 school year

Please use the Kindergarten Online Registration Portal (do not use this link for 2024 - 2025) for student registration for the 2023-2024 school year.  For Kindergarten Registration for 2024 - 2025 please click here.

A child must be at least 5 years old by December 1, 2023 to enter Kindergarten in the 2023-2024 school year.

Starting in February, the Nanuet School District will begin to register incoming kindergarteners for the fall.  Any child who will be five years of age on or before December 1, 2023, and who also meets residency requirements, is eligible to begin kindergarten at the start of the 2023-2024 school year.

To receive a registration packet, or to confirm eligibility, call the Registrar at 845-627-9883 or email amoynihan@nanuetsd.org.

Some of the documents necessary to complete registration include a birth certificate with a raised seal or other official documentation providing date of birth, a record of immunizations, physical and dental check-ups and proof of residence.  The complete list of required documents is included in the registration packet, along with instructions to complete online registration.

When the incoming students have completed registration, parents/guardians will then receive information about their parent orientation sessions, school visitation days and kindergarten screenings.

Los niños deben tener al menos 5 años antes del 1 de diciembre de 2023 para ingresar al kindergarten en el año escolar 2023-2024.

A partir de febrero, el Distrito Escolar de Nanuet comenzará a inscribir a los niños que ingresaran a kindergarten para el otoño del 2023. Registration Requirements

**Attendance to Nanuet Public Schools is for LEGAL RESIDENTS ONLY**

Proof of Residency

  • One of the following: Lease Agreement, Mortgage Statement, Deed Closing Papers, Property Tax Bill 

And Two of the following:

  • Utility Bill-Orange and Rockland
  • Water Bill-Suez Water
  • Cable Bill-Dish Network,Cablevision, Verizon
  • Landline Phone Bill **wireless phone bills will NOT be accepted**

**The district maintains the right to request further proof of residency at any time**

Parent Photo Identification

  • For Identification Purposes Only (Driver's License, Non-Driver's ID Card, Visa, Passport or other photo ID)

Proof of Birth (Must Be Original) Provide one of the following

  • Birth Certificate
  • Passport/Green Card (Current)
  • Baptismal/Bris Certificate

Proof of Immunization

  • Month, date, and year of immunization stamped by a doctor.  A doctor's office can fax them directly to Nanuet Schools 845-623-1963

     The following immunizations are required for all students entering Grades K-12. Additional immunization may be necessary on a case by case basis.

  • 3 doses of DTP (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus)
  • 3 doses of polio vaccine
  • 2 doses of MMR (measles, mumps and rubella)
  • Tdap vaccine - 1 dose for Grades 6-12
  • 3 doses of hepatitis B vaccine
  • 1-2 doses of varicella  (chicken pox)
  • Meningococcal vaccine (students entering grades 7 and 12), 12th graders must have 2 doses

CPSE

To register your pre-school age (3-5) child for Special Education Services you must first be referred to the Committee on Pre-School Special Education. Once your child is referred a registration packet will be sent to you. All parents seeking services for their child must register them in person.

 Registration Requirements for CPSE

  • Completed Registration Form
  • Signed Consent Form
  • Child's Birth Certificate or Current Passport 
  • Immunization Records
  • Proof of Residency-utility bill, cable bill, landline phone bill--cell phone bills will NOT be accepted

 CPSE registration is conducted at the district central offices. Please call 845-627-9883 to schedule an appointment.

Universal Pre-K

The Universal Pre-K Program is a FREE  5 hour, 5 days a week, program for 4 year old children. In order to qualify for this state funded program children must be age 4 on or before December 1st and live within the Nanuet district boundaries.

Registration for Private School Students

Nanuet residents who are attending private/parochial schools must register with the school district to be eligible to receive transportation and books.  New students must complete registration by using the Online Registration Portal linked at the top of the page.

The private transportation application must be received at the District Office by April 1st of each year, addressed to: Melissa Merritt, Nanuet Public Schools, 101 Church Street, Nanuet, NY 10954.  We cannot guarantee transportation if forms are not filed by the deadline.  Residents who move into the District after the April 1st deadline have 30 days to submit this form. The student/students must be registered with the Nanuet School District to receive these services.  Non-public schools must be within 15 miles of the student’s home as measured along the most direct route.
