Lead Testing Update (12/2/16):

As an update to our previous reports on lead testing, on September 6th Governor Cuomo signed legislation reducing the allowable amounts of lead in public schools from 20 ppb to 15 ppb. 

The following bathroom sinks/outlets and one water fountain have been found with lead levels above EPA guidelines: 

Outdoor Education Center:

1) Outside Greenhouse Hose Spigot:

    This sample was measured at 103 PPB.

2) Main Office Bathroom Faucet:

    This sample was measured at 16 PPB.

George Miller Elementary:

1) First Floor Classroom 101 – Outside Bathroom Faucet:

    This sample was measured at 16 PPB.

 2) First Floor Classroom 110 Faucet:

    This sample was measured at 37 PPB.

Highview Elementary:

 1) First Floor Girls Bathroom Near Custodial Shop – Middle Sink Faucet C:

    This sample was measured at 62 PPB.

 2) First Floor Girls Bathroom Near Custodial Shop – Sink D Near Wall:

   This sample was measured at 570 PPB.

 3) First Floor Boys Bathroom – Sink Faucet D Near Wall:

   This sample was measured at 98 PPB.

 4) Second Floor Art Room Bathroom Sink Faucet:

   This sample was measured at 16 PPB.

 5) Second Floor Girls Bathroom – Middle Sink Faucet B:

   This sample was measured at 34 PPB.

 6) Second Floor Boys Bathroom – Sink Faucet Near Room 102:

   This sample was measured at 230 PPB.

 Barr Middle School:

1) First Floor Girls Bathroom - Floor A Sink:

    This sample was measured at 26 PPB.

2) First Floor New Wing Boys Bathroom – Sink D:

    This sample was measured at 27 PPB.

3) First Floor New Wing Boys Bathroom - Sink G:

    This sample was measured at 30 PPB.

4) Hose Bib by Room 116:

    This sample was measured at 22 PPB.

High School:

1) First Floor Water Fountain – By Art Room:

    This sample was measured at 16 PPB.

2) First Floor Girls Bathroom – Sink 1:

    This sample was measured at 18 PPB.

3) First Floor Art Room 110 – Four Sinks:

   These samples were measured at 33 PPB (Sink 1), 30 PPB (Sink 2), 650 PPB (Sink 3) and 42 PPB (Sink 4).

4) First Floor Science Room 108 – Back Sink:

    This sample was measured at 48 PPB.

5) Second Floor Science Room 208 – 2 Sinks:

    These samples were measured at 25 PPB (Sink 1) and 45 PPB (Sink 2).

6) Second Floor Science Room 230 – 2 Sinks:

    These samples were measured at 24 PPB (Sink 1) and 24 PPB (Sink 4).

7) Second Floor Science Room 233 – Sink 1:

    This sample was measured at 22 PPB (Sink 1).

 All of the above have been taken out of service until we remediate the situation. None of these outlets are used for consumption, with the exception of the one water fountain at the High School.
